Is the KJV the true
Bible NO!
Is the KJV the only
Bible?
NO!
Is the KJV the best
translation NO!
If the answer to these
questions are an emphatic NO, then why use it?
There is one very simple reason. The
vast majority of ALL major noted and used
study books and commentaries for the Bible
only used the KJV as their starting point.
People tend to forget
that the oldest of the "recent
translations"
where not done until the 1900's, whereas the
Strong's Exhaustive concordance was first
published in the late 1800's with
Matthew Hennery's Commentaries dating all the
way back to the 1700's.
It wasn't until 1901
that we had the oldest of the most recent
publications with "The American Standard
version published" Then my favorite,
which is "The New American Standard Version"
came out in 1971, but the New Testament only
was published earlier in19611. During
my theological education in the late 19860's
and through the 1970's1, this was the
"preferred translation for my Greek classes;
Greek I, II, and III, during those
years. FYI: I was the first student to
graduate from Evangel University with a Greek
Minor in thee Greek language.
I pursed my a Masters at OU built due to
circumstances, I as never able to complete
my course of study.
This is commonly e\why
the KJV is used for study..
